Recently, a new site called GamerDNA emerged and it aims to uncover the patterns in behaviors and attitudes in the case of gamers, all this through a series of tests that focus on different kinds of genres like the all too popular MMOs, shooters or strategy games.
It is also meant to be a different kind of social networking site, one that is custom fitted to the needs of gamers, either casual or hardcore, both categories finding a place on this site.
Regarding the quiz system, Jon Randoff, CEO of GamerDNA, had this to say: "The quiz system is central to the identity defining capabilities of GamerDNA.com and we are thrilled with the positive response that it has received thus far from the community. Our goal was to have quizzes on the site that are fun to take and that also help us to define what we, as gamers, find interesting. The quizzes not only enhance our identity platform, but also help us to draw unique insights from the collective intelligence of people involved in the culture of gaming."
In regard to the actual site and user experience, I have to say it is pretty fun. I registered an account this morning and took all the tests available so far and I had quite a lot of fun. The questions are really well placed, with answers that cover a lot of different types of personalities, and the results are also pretty nice, with already known stereotypes making an appearance, like Turtler or Rusher in the case of the RTS quiz. The multitude of options offered to the player and statistics are really nice and the integration of already known gamer oriented applications like Steam, XFire or Xbox Live come to complete the "DNA" of a particular gamer.
