Apple no longer sells the handset, but some retailers still have it in stock

Apple may have discontinued the iPhone 5 with the introduction of two newer models this year, but that doesn’t mean the 2012 model isn’t still available to buy.

In a departure from recent trends, Apple no longer kept last year’s iPhone aboard, phasing it out in favor two altogether new models. Apple does, however, still sell the 4S as a $0 iPhone with a two-year contract.

But there is still demand for a 4-inch screen without the perks of the 5s or 5c (Touch ID sensor, colorful chassis, etc.). Which is why Walmart is running a sale on remaining iPhone 5 units, handing them out to people eager to sign a new wireless contract.

Customers willing to accept the terms of a two-year wireless service are able to pick up an iPhone 5 for just $29 (€21.49) at Walmart. This is the offer for the 16GB model, while 32GB and 64GB variants are more expensive, but still take the discount.
