After missing quite a long time from the movie scene, Dannii Minogue is returning to her roots by starring in an Australian movie this year.
The beautiful Australian pop star, who is putting the finishing touches on her new album Heavy Disco, plans to return in a few months to acting, starring in the film Except East Richmond in Melbourne.
Described as a twisted love story, the Australian movie will be directed by Pip Mushin, who had a tiny role in King Kong and directed the low-budget comedy Josh Jarman.
While big sister Kylie remains in Paris recovering from breast cancer treatment, 34-year-old Dannii spent Christmas at home with the family and found time to meet with the film's screenwriter Michael Schiavello, so as to discuss about the project.
Being her first major film role since Secrets opposite Noah Taylor in 1992, this is the chance for her to make the best of it and prove her fans that she's not only a gorgeous woman, a successful singer, but also a talented actress.
Meanwhile, Minogue has taken a fancy to pole dancing after a recent visit to a London strip club. "I'm trying to work out how my London pad can accommodate a pole," she said. "Although, with floor-to-ceiling windows, it's probably best for the neighbors that I don't."
