“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will arrive in theaters from all over the world in April this year but Marvel isn’t wasting a second to plan everything about the future of its very successful Avengers franchise, of which “Captain America” is a part.

According to Variety, with the second installment still to be released, the studio has already decided to bring back Anthony and Joe Russo to handle directorial duties. The duo directed the second film and Marvel is said to be thrilled with the results.

A third film hasn’t even been greenlit but, seriously now, what are the odds of “Winter Soldier” failing so miserably as to scrape plans of a threequel?

“Negotiations wouldn’t begin until after ‘Winter Soldier’ bows but sources say Marvel has been so impressed with the production of the film, as well as with strong results from recent test screenings, that the studio has moved fast to attach the brothers to the next installment,” Variety says.

The principal cast has a clause for a threequel in their contracts, so that means that Chris Evans, who plays the good Captain, is on board the project even before it’s greenlit. Kevin Feige will produce, Variety further says.

Before we get ahead of ourselves too much, above is the trailer for the second installment, “Winter Soldier.” I don’t know about you, but I’m fairly psyched about it.
