With only a couple of days to go until the US premiere of the much-anticipated “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” hype for the film is starting to build up again. 20th Century Fox and production members are doing their best in this sense, with director Gavin Hood being one of the most active “campaigners” for the film. At a recent “Wolverine” screening, Hood revealed in more or less exact terms the kind of surprises in store for the fans once the movie premieres, as ScreenCrave can confirm.

He might have kept mum on the topic so far, but Hood has just come out of hiding to openly address the highly mediated issue of the workprint leak at the beginning of this month. Visibly embarrassed, as the publication describes him, Hood did his best to convince fans to save their money to buy tickets for “Wolverine” come this Friday because, even if they don’t realize it right now, the differences between the bootleg version and the official one will be jaw-dropping.

As ScreenCrave sums it up, “There are a total of 967 special effects used in the film, and 400 are missing from the leaked copy. There was no music present just a temporary score. The sound wasn’t edited. There was no color time. It was low resolution.” Moreover, Hood says that the film will also include two so-called Easter Eggs (hidden features or media – a technique often used in video games or DVDs) that will completely give new meaning to the ending.

There is a catch, though, and that is that the film won’t include both, meaning, in order to see them, one has to buy two tickets for two different locations. The good part, as the publication points out, is that one such Easter Egg might include a different ending with Deadpool, which, in turn, would make a spin-off with this particular character highly likely, as rumor had it a while ago as well.

Main star Hugh Jackman is also doing his fair share of interviews these days, also with the purpose of showing fans that they should forget about the leak and see the movie instead. “I think people – especially the fans – will still want to see the movie in a theater. But there’s nothing that can be done about it now. That will always be a risk. There’s a chance your plane will crash, or you’ll get into a car crash. But that doesn’t mean you don’t fly or drive. You just have to stay positive, because if you worry too much about things, madness lies therein.” USA Today quotes him as saying about how he still manages to keep optimistic when things seem to go against him.
