Alexandre Julliard, the leader of the Wine project, has informed us about some new interesting features that have been introduced with version 1.3.30.

The biggest feature of Wine 1.3.30 (keep in mind this is a development version and not the stable one) is the reimplementation of DirectSound on top of MMDevAPI. Also, now there is also support for StretchBlt in the DIB engine.

Besides these exciting new features, a lot of other minor fixes have been announced, making a lot of great games playable on the Linux platform.

Among them are FIFA 2010 which now has working sound in multiplayer matches, Simcity 4 Deluxe no longer crashes while loading the game, Aliens vs Predator (the new one) is now playable, and we have to mention that the cursor for Starcraft 2 is no longer blank in gameplay.
