A few days ago, a fierce-looking dinosaur joined the crew aboard the International Space Station. No major incidents have thus far been reported, and rumor has it that, contrary to expectations, the dino is quite friendly.

Then again, the dinosaur is merely a stuffed toy, so it's no wonder that the astronauts are having such an easy time avoiding conflicts with it. Boing Boing tells us that the dino was made by astronaut and flight engineer Karen Nyberg for her 3-year-old son. By the looks of it, she made it using nothing but scraps she found floating about the station.

“Made in space! I made this dinosaur for my son last Sunday, September 22,” Karen wrote in a message accompanying a picture of the dinosaur on Pinterest.

In case anyone was wondering, this dino is the first stuffed toy to have ever been made in space.
