Dina Lohan, mother of rehabbing actress Lindsay Lohan, has rubbished reports that her daughter would be on next season of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars – while also doing some lobby for herself, presumably in the hope she will get an offer too.
As we
also noted on a previous occasion, DWTS producers approached Lindsay with an offer to be on the show offering very strong pro arguments: the money she’d make, the level of exposure she’d get and, most importantly, a chance at making a career comeback.
In the face of this last argument, Lindsay was reportedly convinced that she could do no better than DWTS after she got out of rehab at the Betty Ford Clinic.
Not really, Dina is now saying for
Radar Online. Lindsay did get an offer, but she turned it down because her love remains film and, above all, she wants to focus on her recovery and overcoming her addictions.
However, having Dina on the show would probably make more sense, Lohan’s mother seems to be saying.
“We are huge fans of the show and think it’s incredible. We’ll watch it, but it is not going to happen,” Dina says, putting an end to reports that Lindsay may be on the next season of the show.
“Lindsay actually told the woman at Dancing With The Stars who made the offer that ‘you need to take my mom!’” Dina adds.
She then goes on to
detail why she’d be a better choice for DWTS, without actually saying she’d love to be on it.
“Lindsay is a great dancer, but she’s taking a break right now. She has been through a lot. Our family loves the show because I’m a dancer, and I taught dance when Lindsay was growing up,” Dina says.
“I dragged her from one dance studio to another, and she sat in front of the mirrors and watched, while I taught,” she adds.
So far, DWTS producers have not picked up on Lohan’s hints – but rest assured you’ll find out about it here when (and if) they do.
