It's impossible to start this article with a reference other than “the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree” because just yesterday we saw in the news that Lindsay fell off the wagon and was spotted stumbling around Coachella. Today, her mother Dina, has pleaded guilty to drunk driving.

Dina was present in court, on Tuesday, April 15, to admit that she had been drinking and driving when cops had pulled her over in Long Island, New York back in September. At the time, police officers clocked her BMW traveling way over the speed limit and she was also found to have a .20 blood alcohol level, when the legal limit is .08.

In exchange for her guilty plea to aggravated driving while intoxicated, Dina Lohan has received 100 hours of community service, according to the NY Daily News, which is harsh, but definitely better than going to jail. Because that was exactly what was expecting her under the circumstances.

The 51-year-old mother of famous actress Lindsay Lohan told prosecutors that she had been speeding because of trying to get away from paparazzi, who were chasing her, and they agreed to reduce the speeding charge. In this way, she only got three points on her license rather than the original nine.

Not only will Dina Lohan have to report for community service, but she will also have to undergo a 16-hour drunk-driving program and have a device installed on her car that disables her ignition in case she fails a Breathalyzer test.

Apart from all the measures listed above, Dina will also have her license revoked for a year and will have to avoid getting arrested for a whole year, otherwise she risks going to jail. These conditions were imposed by the judge after reviewing her case.

Finally, Dina will have to dish out the sum of $3,100 (€2,244), which constitutes fines she's racked up for her little stunt.

Her lawyer, Mark Jay Heller, pointed out that Dina was deeply affected by the whole trial and the sentence when he said, “She felt this was a great start to the Holy Week.” When prompted outside the court by journalists on the outcome of her trial, Dina exploded, “I'll never be back here again. You can quote me on that one.”

One can't help but notice the similarity between mother and daughter, after Lindsay's notorious issues with alcohol and drugs, that have landed her in trouble with police.

Despite the fact that her current reality show would have you believe she's working hard on her comeback, Lindsay has reportedly already fallen off the wagon and was spotted drunk while hanging out at various parties at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival over the weekend.
