Momager of Lindsay Lohan says her daughter lied about drug-fueled argument

Following months of speculation as to her level of sobriety, Dina Lohan is speaking out again. The mother and manager of Lindsay Lohan, now on a promo trail for her new movie “Liz & Dick,” sat down for an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

Excerpts from it are available below, embedded at the end of the article.

For starters, Dina says that the fight that got her and Lindsay all over the news again, which resulted in the release of an audio recording of Lindsay saying her mom was on cocaine, was completely blown out of proportion.

Dina doesn’t do drugs, let alone cocaine, so Lindsay was only saying that to hurt her.

“Absolutely lied. We were having an argument, it escalated. She just wanted to hurt me at that moment. You know, mothers [and] daughters, we fight,” Dina says of the argument she got into with Lindsay, and which Lindsay later recalled to her dad Michael Lohan.

“I hate cocaine. I don’t do cocaine. That drug destroyed my life,” Dina goes on to say, denying all rumors of drug abuse.

“I’m so proud of her for telling the truth because it destroyed me. I mean, I cried for weeks. It just hurt me so bad and she knew how horrible that was, and she came clean and told the truth that she lied. I’m very proud of her for that, which is very difficult to have to do,” she says.

As all celebrity gossip lovers must know by now, after Michael recorded the conversation with her daughter and then leaked it to the press, Lindsay issued a statement to say she’d lied, her mother wasn’t on drugs and attempting to kidnap her at the time she called her father.

In the same ET interview, Dina also talks about why Lindsay canceled the interview with Barbara Walters in a sneaky PR move Walters described as a personal “disappointment.”
