The standard recharger a mobile phone or portable electronic device comes with will soon turn out to be out-fashioned, because more and more companies are working on eliminating the bulky chargers and replacing them with devices that can charge almost any portable device and maybe even become a source of heating, as in the case of the mini pocket heater Touch Stone, presented by Korean company Digital Tech.

You can control the temperature by pressing the power button, and it may become pretty useful when out in the cold. According to Eulkyun Jeong, director of the company, Touch Stone was designed to be useful for those whose jobs require staying outside most of the time and for the winter sports enthusiasts.

Measuring 98 x 64 x 16 mm and weighing 102 grams, the Touch Stone shouldn't become inconvenient to carry around in a pocket or bag and the rechargeable lithium-polymer battery it comes with will keep it running for around 6 hours.

Apart from providing warmth, the Touch stone can also serve as a power supply for portable electronics such as mobile phones, digital cameras or portable media players via a 24-pin connector. Reportedly it can triple the battery life of MP3 players or digital cameras and extend the running time of DMB phones with 3 hours and as much as 9 hours in the case of mobile phones.

The advantage of this device is that you only need to carry one charger around for multiple portable devices instead of carrying a charger for each of them. The Touch Stone can be found in two colors, red or black, and is now available in Korea and can be purchased for a price of 39,600KRW or 42$.
