It will definitely add a new dimension to the Digital Storm desktop lineup

Makers of custom-designed desktops and laptops always need to be on top of their game, otherwise they'll lose customers to rivals and the DIY market (do-it-yourself).

Thus, every once in a while they will release a product that supplements or complements their systems, instead of just pushing a new desktop configuration out the door.

In this case, Digital Storm has formally launched the HydroLux complete desktop cooling solution.

The water cooling system is advanced enough that people may feel sad over the fact that they'll never be able to buy one.

That's because Digital Storm will only include it, on demand, in its own gaming desktops. It won't sell it standalone, much to the dismay of anyone dreaming about large high-flow pumps and moving 300 gallons of cooling fluid per hour.

HyrdroLux can operate in quiet and extreme airflow profiles, but it can automatically determine what adjustments to make as well.

The array of temperature probes supplies the HydroLux control board with real-time data. Said data can be used to modify fan zones, among other things.

That's just one facet of the cooling system though. In fact, the HydroLux can even call upon the case LEDs for help with status indication.

As internal system and fluid temperatures rise, LEDs can be faded from a cool blue to a warm red, as if lighting an alarm. Chassis lighting switches to red every time a maximum temperature recording is exceeded too.

Then there's the HydroLux proprietary Control Center software, which shows temperature graphs, thermal linked LED lighting (pictured below), and automated airflow optimization. All features can be directly controlled from there.

"We work hard to differentiate the Digital Storm brand by engineering powerful systems that meet our customer's high-performance demands," said Rajeev Kuruppu, Digital Storm's Director of Product Development.

"HydroLux delivers on that promise by providing an industry leading cooling solution that can be fully customized to meet each user's unique needs."
