The past few months have been filled with releases of newer and better products, especially central processing units and graphics cards with next-generation technologies. It can even be said that the performance bar was raised up by a notch or two, not just in terms of processing, but also in terms of graphics. Naturally, the six-core chips from Advanced Micro Devices and the DirectX 11 cards from NVIDIA gained the greatest deal of attention amongst enthusiasts, and for good reason. Now, Digital Storm has come out and made its own contribution to the steadily growing collection of top-grade gaming systems.

The new gaming PC isn't just some other iteration of a previously existing rig, though. In fact, it bears the name of Special|OPS and combines the best that the computing, memory and video segments have to offer. At the heart of it all lies a powerful CPU, which can belong to Intel's Core i5 or Core i7 Series, or AMD's Phenom II X4/X6 line, depending on user preference. Whichever chip is selected is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and a powerful video controller. Multiple cards are available as an option, the strongest among them being none other than the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 and the dual-GPU ATI Radeon HD 5970.

The rest of the specification sheet includes up to three storage units (HDDs or SSDs), a DVD or Blu-ray drive and, of course, all the 'regular' connectivity and I/O options. End-users can visit the company's official website, should they wish to take a look at the multiple configurations available for order. Prices range between $987 and $2,429.

“Our Special|OPS systems receive the same level of attention, with respect to the quality build and stringent testing procedures, as our Black|OPS systems; they truly represent a phenomenal value for the price,” Rajeev Kuruppu, Digital Storm's director of product development, said. “To be the predominant name in system integration means that we not only lead the industry with bleeding-edge rigs, but that we also offer systems for gamers of every budget. Our new Special|OPS line is the ultimate solution for gamers who want incredible performance and the most bang for their buck.”
