John McClane will yippee kay-yay another day. As confirmed precisely one year ago, a fifth “Die Hard” movie will be made. Fans should be happy to know that a title, release date and plot line have been made public.

Bruce Willis, who’s made McClane a cult character, has long said that he’d do a fifth movie – and even stressed that he could do a sixth, but not more.

Tom Rothman, co-chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fox Filmed Entertainment, did an interview just recently in which he offered the first details of the much anticipated sequel, Slash Film reports.

First things first, fans should learn to practice patience, because “Die Hard 5” – or “A Good Day to Die Hard” as it’s officially called – is still a long way to go.

While it goes in production in a few months’ time, in January 2012, to be more exact, it will not be out in theaters until Valentine’s Day 2013 (February 14).

As for the plot, it will take action to a whole new level by moving the story from the US overseas.

“The story is set in Russia and begins with John McClane heading to Moscow to sweet talk some cops into letting his apparently-wayward son out of jail for something he did, but when he gets there, things surrounding his son’s arrest are not as they appear and world-threatening terrorist hijinks ensue,” Slash Film writes.

This shouldn’t surprise fans, the publication further argues, since Willis has said before that he wanted each “Die Hard” film to expand to new territories.

If so, “Die Hard 6” will probably take place in space.

“John Moore (Max Payne, The Omen, Behind Enemy Lines) was chosen by Willis to direct,” Slash Film says.

The scrip is by Skip Woods, known for his work on “Swordfish,” “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and the more recent “A-Team.”

Keep an eye on this space for more details on the sequel.
