Well, what do you know!? After announcing that he no longer wants to stay with Chelsea in the future, Ivorian striker Didier Drogba signed a new deal with the English club. Apparently, the player will be playing under Jose Mourinho for another 4 seasons. Despite the fact that he has been linked with moves to AC Milan or French champs Olimpique Lyon, Drogba decided that it will be for the best to play alongside Shevchenko and Ballack. So, as soon as Chelsea got back from their US Tour - where they lost to the MLS All Stars - his agent announced the new deal. "Didier will sign a new contract with Chelsea as soon as the team comes back from the States. We have effectively agreed a new deal with them and there are only a few details to sort out", said Tserno Saidi, the player's agent. The 28-year old striker was transferred to Stanford Bridge from Olimpique Marseille in the summer of 2004 for almost 35 million euros. Still, after Abramovich's latest transfers, the player repeatedly stated that he wants out. Shavchenko, Ballack, Essien and Crespo are all trying to win the starting position in Mourinho's squad. Drogba will allegedly gain about 140.000 euros per week after signing the new deal. Despite his staying, Chelsea will apparently sell their other want-to-leave player, Frenchman William Gallas. According to the latest rumors, the defender may be exchanged to Arsenal for English player Ashley Cole.
