Just a couple of hours ago, I was telling you that Diddy had been posting message after message on social media, bragging about becoming a series regular on “Downton Abbey.” As it turns out, he wasn’t lying about it.

Sort of.

As I also said in my initial post, there was a 50/50 chance Diddy wasn’t telling the truth. He wasn’t – but he wasn’t lying either.

The cameo he shot is actually a Funny Or Die spoof on the heels of last week’s announcement that the hit drama series had hired its first-ever black actor, Gary Carr, who would be playing a jazz singer.

In the spoof, which is actually quite hilarious, Diddy plays Lord Walcott, who strolls in and announces he’s the new owner of Downton Abbey, which he continues to pronounce Down-town Abbey.

In between charming the ladies, he also romances Thomas Barrow though, to defend Diddy from any suspicion of being a heartbreaker, Thomas is the first to make a pass at him.

As expected, his Ciroc vodka also makes a brief appearance.
