Celebrity swatting is really getting out of hand. Each day, more celebrities’ homes are raided by police after a 911 call from a prankster who claims something really serious and dangerous is going down. Diddy is the latest star to be swatted.

TMZ reports that the armed police and a SWAT team descended on the rapper’s home after yet another prank call, with police now working to find and have the caller held accountable.

“More than A DOZEN cop cars and TWO police helicopters raced to Diddy's LA home moments ago, but law enforcement sources tell TMZ the incident is yet another ‘swatting’ prank,” TMZ writes.

“Law enforcement sources tell us a swatter made a call that someone was shot inside the home. Sources at the scene tell us cops are already dispersing and officials now know it was another celebrity swatting prank,” adds the same media outlet.

TMZ also writes that Steve Carell might have been the initial target because police cars were in front of his house. Incidentally, Miley Cyrus’ parents were also swatted last year and they live on the same street.

As we also reported on various other occasions, “swatting” has really picked up in recent months even though police are investigating to determine the identity of the callers to have them prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Last month, the trial of a 12-year-old boy who swatted Ashton Kutcher started, with him admitting that he pranked authorities by calling 911 to say he’d heart shots inside the actor’s home.

He also said that there were several attackers inside at the moment of the call, armed to the teeth and carrying explosives, and that several people had already been shot.

The boy pulled a similar prank with Justin Bieber’s home address, which resulted in his home being swatted. He is believed to have started this time and resource-consuming “trend.”

He is being prosecuted as a juvenile.
