14 DAY TRIAL // Keep an eye out for Diddy in a new episode of “Downton Abbey.” Or don’t, because he might not be in it. The rapper is boasting on social media that he’s been cast on the show, but producers are sternly denying it.
Of course, this could be a simple case of Diddy blowing the lid on the news before he was supposed to, hence the denial from the producers. Still, it’s pretty fishy if you think about it.
“MY BIG NEWS: So happy to announce that Im a series regular on DOWNTON ABBEY-my favorite show+i'll be debuting a sneak peek tonight 12am PST!” Diddy writes on Twitter.
He even shares a photo of himself in costume, allegedly on the set of the show.
“Another shot of me in action from the set of Downton Abbey-cant wait to share the preview tonight! Stay tuned! #downtonabbey,” he writes.
On the other hand, producers WGBH, tell Billboard that “[Diddy] hasn't been cast in Downton Abbey.”
So either he’s telling the truth and producers still think they can keep it a secret, or he’s using the incredibly popular show to drum up publicity for another one of his projects. Which do you think it is?
