The Apple Store is down amidst iPhone 6 pre-orders

I’m sure lots of Apple fans or other mobile users who prefer the iPhone over other smartphones have been having difficulties pre-ordering the latest product launched by the Cupertino-based company.

First of all, let’s see how much one would have to pay in order to reserve their preferred iPhone 6 model. Well, it appears that the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 would be available for just $199 (€154) for the 16GB version. The 64GB variant costs $299 (€230), while the 128GB iPhone 6 can be yours for $399 (€310).

The iPhone 6 Plus is available in three variants as well: 16GB, 64GB and 128GB. They are available for $299 (€230), $399 (€310) and $499 (€385), respectively. Keep in mind that these prices are with a 2-year plan. Both iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus can be ordered in three different colors: silver, space gray and gold.

When Apple puts a new iPhone on sale, it usually takes down its Store to add the new product and make the pre-order option available to customers, and this happened this year as well.

Unfortunately, the Apple Store remained offline even after pre-orders kicked off at 12pm PDT. It’s been almost 2 hours since then and it’s still offline.

Oh well, regardless of that, it looks like lots of people still managed to order the iPhone 6 using other methods: either by clicking mindlessly on their desktop until they would eventually be transferred to the next page or by using their iPhones.

You can only pre-order through the iPhone store

All this time that the Apple Store was down, the store was accessible from the iPhone, and in some cases, from the iPad. So if you’ve been trying to pre-order the iPhone 6 from the web or iPad stores and had no luck, then you should try out the iPhone.

Sadly, by the time you read this, the iPhone 6 pre-order backlog should be quite large and you might receive your phone a few weeks later than September 19, the official market release.

Well, the good news in all this is that Apple Store did not crash during pre-orders, because it didn’t come back online when iPhone 6 pre-orders kicked off.

Every time Apple fails at something, the jokes on various social network channels start, and this time was no exception. Apple fans and “haters” alike started to tweet funny things about the whole situation.

While many have been able to reserve their iPhone 6 using one of the methods above, we’re certain lots of people are still trying to get through their pre-orders. Did you manage to reserve your iPhone 6 during Apple Store’s outage?
