Gigabyte is a tech manufacturer that has built its business on motherboards, graphics cards, laptops and such. But the Taiwanese company also makes smartphones.

Actually, Gigabyte has just released three new smartphones and one of them is actually worth looking into, especially since it is quite affordable (as seen at GSM Arena).

GSmart Guru GX takes advantage of Snapdragon 615

Let’s start by detailing a few things about it. The GSmart Guru GX arrives with a 5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and draws power from a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 chip clocked at 1.5GHz and fitted with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD).

The Guru GX lives off a 2,300 mAh battery and boasts a 13MP camera with Sony Exmor sensor on the back and a 5MP shooter up in front. Android 4.4 KitKat is the default operating system, but if you want Lollipop on the same boat with Snapdragon 615, you’ll have to get the ZTE Blade S6. The handset also has LTE.

Gigabyte GSmart Mixa MX is the mid-ranger in the series

Coming up next we have the GSmart Mika MX, which arrives with a 5-inch display and 540 x 960 pixel resolution. It draws life from a quad-core Snapdragon 410 chip clocked at 1.2GHz and fitted with 1GB of RAM and just 8GB of native storage (although there’s a microSD card available).

Interestingly enough, the battery inside is of the 3,000 mAh variety. The Mika MX also boasts two SIM cards and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

Gigabyte Roma RX is the low-end model

Last but not least, the Roma RX was launched with a 5-inch display offering a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. The phone draws its life from a MediaTek MT6582 chipset clocked at 1.3GHz accompanied by just 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card).

On the back we find a 5MP camera, while in front there’s a VGA one. The battery inside is of the 2,000 mAh variety.

Gigabyte hasn't specified the exact prices for which the devices will sell, but given that previous models coming from the company tended to sport affordable price tags, we expect to see the same here.
