Many love Apple for its efforts to stay green, while others simply love the company just for its cool computers and portables. But, how high would Apple rank in your book, if we were to tell you that among the company's policies for hiring retail staff there is one that gives the green light to applicants with physical or mental disabilities?

This is something called “Reasonable Accommodation” and, according to Apple, it is a way to provide anyone with the chance to work at one of the company's iconic stores.

Just like other big companies, Apple stresses that its environment is the best in retail. While some may disagree, it's hard to pass on the cool lighting, the glass structures, the wooden floors and, of course, who would want to miss an Apple Store Grand Opening! Moreover, while there are many who think they're up to the task of working in one of Apple's stores, the physically impaired, or the mentally disabled don't even dream of such an opportunity, let alone dare apply for a job. Still, Apple is offering it!

“Applicants applying for an Apple Pro position with a physical or mental disability who require a reasonable accommodation for any part of the application or hiring process may contact Apple's Employee Relations Department at 408-862-1160 or [email protected] for assistance,” Apple writes on its website under Job Opportunities.

Additionally, applicants may contact the Apple store manager at the location(s) where they are applying, or they may contact Employee Relations at the above-mentioned phone number and email address. Apple does note that “Determinations on requests for reasonable accommodation are made on a case-by-case basis.”

On the bottom of the page, Apple makes one final mentioning saying: "We are committed to diversity. Apple is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.”
