Diaspora: Shattered Armistice, a single and multiplayer space fighter combat game set in the reimagined Battlestar Galactica universe, is available for Linux.

There have been a flurry of Battlestar Galactica inspired games, but neither of them really took advantage of the movie universe. In the end, it took a team of independent developers to actually make a game that’s worth playing.

The team of developers that made this game possible, Hard Light Productions, spent the last four years working on it and it shows. It features beautiful graphics and emulates the atmosphere of the TV show almost perfectly.

Diaspora: Shattered Armistice you will get to fly the famous MK VII Viper and take part in huge battles against the Cylons. The game also comes with a multiplayer component and a level editor.

You can download Diaspora: Shattered Armistice from Softpedia. If you are an Arch Linux user, you might consider installing the latest version from the Arch repository, package maintained by our colleague Marius Nestor.
