If you're not exactly the type of person who's seriously affected by the current economic conditions and you really want to make someone a special gift this Christmas, then Luxury items' manufacturer Alexander Amosu has a very interesting offering in store for you, namely the 24-carat gold-coated Apple iPad, that will be available in time for this Christmas.

As Alexander Amosu informs us, the gold-plated Internet tablet will be a part of their Amosu Couture collection, a division that specializes in the customization of prestigious and fashionable handsets, items of the latest technology, and luxury possessions.

And indeed, this is pretty much what they've managed to do with the iPad as well, the result being one even the mythical king Midas would love.

And that's because, beside the 24-carat gold plating, the device also sports no less than 356 Swarovski diamonds (totaling 1.7 carats) set in 11.6 grams of silver, that makes up the famous Apple logo, located on the rear side of the tablet, where just about everyone can see them (after all, what's the purpose of spending the money on such a thing if you can't flaunt it around a bit?).

However, at the core of these amazing pieces of jewelry, we'll still find what for many people might actually be the greatest jewel of them all, namely the Apple iPad internet tablet.

We've talked about what you can expect from the gold-plated Apple iPad, but now it's time to take a look at something most of are probably more interested in, namely the pricing.

So, the Apple iPad Wifi + 3G 64GB 24-carat gold-plated iPad from Amosus can be yours for around 1799 pounds sterling (roughly 2806 US dollars), while the 32GB is only slightly more affordable, selling for somewhere in the vicinity of 1669 pounds sterling (2603 US dollars).

Not exactly affordable, are they now?
