It has a Gigabit Ethernet port too, so it's more of a docking station really

Laptops usually integrate all the interfaces a PC needs, but sometimes there just aren't enough ports to go around, like when you need to plug in a USB drive but the port is already occupied by the mouse.

Sure, the trackpad can be used instead in those cases, but it's not as convenient.

The easy solution is to buy and use a USB 3.0 hub or some other kind of dock.

Diamond Media has just introduced something of the sort, the Diamond USB303HE 3-port SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Hub with 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet Port.

An ASIX AX88179 chipset and USB to RJ45 connection are included.

Up to three USB peripherals and wired Ethernet can be linked at the same time.

Retail sales should already be underway, for $39.99 / €39.99. Check out online retailers to see if it's available.
