As you might already know, VoIP telephony is slowly - but surely - becoming the most important means of voice communication in the world, with a ton of compatible devices being thrown on the market. Moreover, even if they've originally started as text-only programs, most of the major IM clients around have also included voice communication facilities, recently one of the biggest names in this category being Yahoo's famous Messenger. And since phones made especially for Skype services are already yesterday's news, today I'll show you a special device aimed at Yahoo Messenger users, namely the "Linksys CIT310 Dual-Mode Cordless Phone with Yahoo! Messenger with Voice".

Yes, I admit it, that's a pretty long name,
but quite worth it, since this is a pretty interesting DECT phone, capable of making calls both over the Yahoo! Internet voice service and over a normal, everyday phone line (PSTN). Moreover, the Linksys CIT310 Dual-Mode Cordless Phone is extremely easy to use, since all the user has to do is select his/her desired contact from the Messenger list displayed on the handset, then simply press a button and talk away.

Now, let's take a closer look at the technical and commercial features of the Linksys CIT310 Dual-Mode Cordless Phone:

- dimensions: 99 x 119 x 74 mm;
- weight: 218 grams;
- comes with a rechargeable battery pack;
- battery life: 10 hours talk time, 100 hours standby;
- built using 1900MHz DECT cordless technology, so it won't interfere with 802.11b or 802.11g Wi-Fi networks;
- range: up to 300 meters outdoor, up to 50 meters indoor;
- doubles as a handsfree speakerphone at the touch of a button;
- features a graphical color LCD display with status indicators;
- the base features an USB port for the PC connection and a RJ-11 connection for the phone analog line;
- features a voice encryption system for maximum security;
- fully compatible with all the Yahoo! Internet voice services.

Interested? Well, then you should know that this very useful devices is not even that expensive. Thus, the Linksys CIT310 Dual-Mode Cordless Phone is available online for around 80 dollars, which - in my opinion - is a very small price for a cordless VoIP/PSTN phone.
