Blizzard Entertainment has released a highly-anticipated patch for Diablo III fans on Mac and Windows, this time delivering a truckload of changes for both camps, including some added menus for Mac gamers.

In addition to bringing the much-hyped Paragon system, Diablo III version 1.0.4 introduces a range of changes to the Legendary Items, Magic Find, item drop rates from enemies, class upgrades and tweaked difficulty levels.

For Mac users in particular, Retina displays are now fully supported, for whoever likes hacking and slashing on a new-generation MacBook Pro, and game resolutions which match Mac screen aspect ratios are now offered.

Players can now switch between Windowed and Fullscreen modes much easier, and selecting the default resolution settings in Video Options will now correctly reset the resolution.

New menu items have been added, including one to reveal various games files and folders in Finder, and another which allows players to copy system information to their Clipboard.

Last, but certainly not least, the Mac implementation of the patch adds a "Help" menu “so players can more quickly navigate to relevant support pages,” says Blizzard.

We didn’t know it was that imperative for Mac gamers to have the instructions handy all the time.

Blizzard asks gamers to note that Diablo III patch 1.0.4 will not be offered as a download until the patch is live in their home region.

“If you are logging in from a European or Asian client, you will need to wait for this patch to release in that region before it can be installed,” reads the notice.

“Additionally, if your home region is the Americas, you will be unable to log into Europe or Asia using Global Play after patch 1.0.4 is live until those regions have also patched,” says Blizzard.
