Developer Blizzard announced that Diablo III was coming to the PlayStation 4 during the new consoles’ launch event in New York and Greg Street, one of the company’s leading developer, says that changes have been made to fundamental mechanics of the game to suit the new platform.

It’s unclear how Diablo III was modified, but a lot of work probably went into the control scheme for the hack and slash title.

Greg Bear sees the console move for Diablo III as a model for how World of Warcraft could be moved to next-gen devices.

The developer tells NowGamer that, “It excites me. It would be something fun to work on just because of the design challenges would be kind of interesting to try to solve.”

Diablo III is expected to be a launch title for the PlayStation 4.
