Diablo III Gets Impressive Cinematic Trailer

Blizzard has been going all out with the promotional efforts built around its BlizzCon event, trying to get the gaming community interested in the new World of Warcraft expansion and the Heart of the Swarm expansion for Starcraft II.

But the star of the show was undoubtedly Diablo III, the hack and slash role playing game that will probably be launched in 2012 and was recently in beta stage.

The attached cinematic trailer for the game shows some really good animation and hints at some pretty interesting story bits for the game, with a number of pretty tough and evil looking creatures ready to scour the world for the Blackstone chrystal.

Given the interest from players and the way Blizzard has been using animation lately, both for Starcraft II and Diablo III, it might not come as a surprise if the company decides to create animated movies for its main franchises in the coming years.
