Video game developer Blizzard announces that it has plans to upgrade the original Diablo III game launcher to its new desktop application for Battle.net before the launch of the Reaper of Souls expansion.

Gamers will get the change via the 2.0.1 patch, but those who want to save a little time can download the app right now in order to make sure that they get all the functionality.

Blizzard explains in an official blog post that, “Battle.net features single sign-on functionality that allows players to log in once to access Diablo III, World of Warcraft, StarCraft II, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, and the upcoming Heroes of the Storm, and lets you stay logged in for up to 30 days.”

The company has recently announced that Hearthstone is at the moment in open beta in North America, with gamers in other territories getting access to it in the next few days.

The new patch for Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm is designed to allow Starter Edition users to get access to custom maps.
