It’s been years that word got out of a Hugh Hefner autobiographical movie that would detail how he laid the foundations to the huge business empire he now fronts while also showcasing the cultural relevance of his activity. Brett Ratner, the action movie director, was the one poised to helm the production while rumor had it Hefner and producer Brian Grazer could never settle on a script. All this might have come to an end, Hugh hints on Twitter.

The legendary Playboy mogul is reportedly eager to get things moving on the autobiographical movie and is personally looking for a screenwriter. If what they say in the media on his recent Tweet is accurate, he might have settled for Oscar-winning scribe Diablo Cody, who wrote the critically acclaimed 2007 “Juno” and the more recent horror comedy “Jennifer’s Body,” which sadly failed to rise to the expectations. If so, then it’s almost certain that the Hefner biopic will be a critical hit, reports in the media say.

In between Tweets on how his current and former girlfriends are doing with their respective reality shows, Hefner takes some time to mention that he is about to meet with Cody for the film. “Meeting with Diablo Cody to talk about the Brian Grazer Playboy film today.” the mogul writes. Since Grazer is also the producer behind the smash hit “A Beautiful Mind,” it’s only understandable that Hefner is looking for someone equally brilliant to pen the script – namely Cody, they say.

Cody herself has not been immediately available for comment. As of now, her plate is relatively empty, the writer reportedly looking at several offers for her next project. Her most recent, the aforementioned “Jennifer’s Body,” miserably failed at the box-office, with skeptics saying it was Megan Fox and the overexposure she gets in the media that killed the film. Critics too trashed it, calling it a project so confused it didn’t even know what it wanted to be but, in all fairness, all praised Cody’s original ideas.

“[‘Jennifer’s Body’] will most disappoint those who hoped ‘Juno’ had introduced a writer with a fresh point of view about young people in today’s world. Horror fans, however, will get a kick out of this absurd yarn of a high-school hottie-turned-psycho cannibal, who feasts on all those boys dying to get into her pants. And there is enough of those Arch, self-conscious comic lines to remind us this is a Cody screenplay.” Kirk Honeycutt of The Hollywood Reporter was saying for Reuters in a review of the horror comedy.
