Blizzard is not offering too many details about the event

Video game developer Blizzard is announcing that a bovine invasion is set to take place in Diablo 3 and that gamers will be able to explore a new game area for a limited time, using a set of new portals that will open up tomorrow.

The official announcement on the Battle.net site is written using a wide array of cow-related puns and says that players should disregard reports about attacks launched by the peaceful creates.

Blizzard states, "Many of you have expressed fear. Some have asked if you should moov your families. To this we say: Hold fast. There is no cause for alarm. We've seen the so-called 'evidence' being pastured around local inns and, after thoroughly investigating all reported sightings, can cowfindently state that this is nothing more than a clever hoax."

From May 15 to May 21, interested Diablo 3 players will be able to use new portals in order to access a new level of the game and presumably battle bovines, although no rewards have been announced so far and it's unclear how powerful the new enemies will be.

The action will start at midnight Pacific Time and will end at the same time on the final day.

The "There is now cow level" meme started with a rumor about the first title in the Diablo series, which was then acknowledged by the development team.

In Diablo 2, the studio introduced an entire area of the game based around it, and a similar Easter Egg was also present in the most recent title.

Diablo 3 continues to evolve

The new cow-themed event is just the latest idea that Blizzard is using to keep the game experience fresh and make sure that the fan community remains engaged with the action RPG.

At the moment, the focus of the company is on the Season mode, which allows players to compete for a limited period of time in order to get access to significant rewards.

A new major update is also being prepared, with feedback from the player community taken into account in its creation.

Rumors are also saying that Blizzard is preparing to announce a new expansion for Diablo 3, which is supposed to add a new class to the title while also expanding the game world in significant ways.
