Sony has announced a very interesting crossover between Naughty Dog's The Last of Us and Blizzard Entertainment's Diablo 3, when the two games should hit their next-gen console, the PlayStation 4.

The company has revealed that, when Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition lands on the PlayStation 4 console, it will include an exclusive dungeon that's packed with enemies that will turn out to be very familiar to those acquainted with Naughty Dog's narrative-driven third-person adventure video game The Last of Us, as Joystiq reports.

Waiting in line to be smitten by the brave descendants of the Nephalem, alongside the usual mix of imps, undead and demons, will be a bunch of fungus-riddled clickers. The infected are the main type of enemy in The Last of Us, apart from other proud representatives of the homo sapiens species, of course.

Details on the dungeon's other features are yet to be revealed, but we'll keep you posted when either party makes the move.

Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition includes the base Diablo 3 game as well as its first expansion, Reaper of Souls. The action role-playing game is making its way to the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 consoles on August 19.

The Last of Us Remastered will land on the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system from Sony on July 29.
