Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition, meaning Diablo 3 plus its first expansions, Reaper of Souls, has just been confirmed for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 consoles, to be launched on August 19.

The Angel of Death will invade home entertainment systems all around the world, scheduled to make an appearance by the end of this summer, making its debut on next-gen consoles.

The Reaper of Souls expansion hit PC and Mac versions of Diablo 3 on March 25, adding an entire new act to the game's storyline, as well as a new class, the crusader, and a complete overhaul of some of the game's systems, greatly improving the user experience in Blizzard's action role-playing game.

Diablo 3 characters from the PlayStation 3 edition of the game will be transferable to either the PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4 version of the Ultimate Evil Edition, and, in a similar fashion, Xbox 360 characters will be transferable to the Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions of it.

In addition to this, those who pre-order the game will also receive an exclusive in-game item, the Infernal Pauldrons, a rather spiffy piece of equipment, if we are to believe Blizzard:

"Wearable at level 1, these devilishly sharp transmogrifiable shoulderplates provide Health, Life regeneration, and Cooldown Reduction. The key for the Infernal Pauldrons will be available in launch day copies of the Ultimate Evil Edition (cannot be transferred across platforms)."

According to Blizzard, the console version of Reaper of Souls has been designed to take advantage of the unique features of each console platform. All four versions of the Ultimate Evil Edition come with 4-player same-screen and online multiplayer, allowing players to take down the Angel of Death by banding together on the same couch or via the PSN or Xbox Live.

Furthermore, the Ultimate Evil Edition also introduces some new ways for players to share their adventures, with the new Apprentice mode boosting low-level players' stats while they're adventuring with their higher-level friends, making it easier than ever for groups of friends to play together.

In addition to this, gamers will also be able to share treasures with their friends via an in-game mail system and will be able to experience new high-level content, in the form of the Adventure Mode, Bounties and Nephalem Rifts.

Blizzard will release Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition, including both the base game and the Reaper of Souls expansion, on August 19, on the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4 platforms.
