The reveals show that Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition made a strong debut, alongside The Last of Us Remastered, which the company has revealed surpassed the 1 million sales mark during its month of existence.

Infamous First Light also made a strong debut during August, as did Madden NFL 15, but only on the North American PlayStation Store, showing once again that there is only one football game ruling over Europe.

North American charts

The PlayStation 4 chart is dominated by Blizzard Entertainment's action role-playing game Diablo 3: RoS – Ultimate Evil Edition, followed by Naughty Dog's post-apocalyptic action adventure title The Last of Us Remastered.

The podium is completed by Infamous First Light, Sucker Punch's standalone expansion for Infamous Second Son, followed by EA Sports' Madden NFL 15. The remastered edition of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, bundled together under the title Metro Redux, made its debut at spot 17.

The PlayStation 3 charts show Blizzard's Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition as a strong player once again, second only to Mojang's Minecraft, with Madden NFL 15 making its debut at position number 9.

On the Vita, Sword Art Online – Hollow Fragment, God of War: Collection and Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z occupy the top spots.

European charts

The PlayStation 4 number-one title for the month of August is Naughty Dog's The Last of Us Remastered, followed by Infamous First Light and Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition.

Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare makes its debut at number 13, while 4A Games' Metro Redux manages to come in at 19.

On the PlayStation 3 charts, Minecraft is once again shown as reigning king, and Blizzard's action role-playing game is only occupying position number 6, with Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare making its debut at position 14.

On the PlayStation Vita, Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment, Assassin's Creed 3 Liberation and Rogue Legacy are the best-selling video games.

Conclusion

Activision Blizzard has revealed that the third installment in the long-running action role-playing game series Diablo sold over 20 million copies by August, 2014, before the launch of the Reaper of Souls expansion on consoles, and the game's debut on next-gen systems.

The popularity that the game seems to enjoy right from the start will surely mark considerably more sales for Blizzard's creation, especially now that it's also entered the realm of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, which together total over 15 million units worldwide.
