A brand new and quite massive report has appeared online, relating to the current state of Activision Blizzard's ongoing projects, claiming that the Diablo 3 team has been moved by the executives onto a new StarCraft project, while there are low expectations for Heroes of the Storm, the new MOBA.

Blizzard has been around for quite some time, delivering more and more great projects over the years, going from blockbusters like World of Warcraft to experiments like Hearthstone.

However, it seems that all isn't well inside the large developer, as a new report that's surfaced on Tumblr, citing an internal source from the large corporation, brings plenty of interesting and even worrying information.

Diablo 3's team is working on a new StarCraft multiplayer project

First up, it seems that most of the Diablo 3 team has been moved onto a brand new project set in the StarCraft universe. The new title is likened to popular free-to-play multiplayer shooter Warframe, while mechanics from the likes of Left 4 Dead, DayZ, Smite, and other battle arena titles can be used.

Blizzard has released a typical "no comment" statement but it has mentioned that the Diablo 3 team is focusing on supporting the dungeon crawling RPG with new content and that it's not working on a secret StarCraft universe.

Heroes of the Storm isn't looking good

The report also touches briefly on Heroes of the Storm, saying that executives in the company have "low expectations" of the whole game and that there are plans to lay off most of the senior staff working on the multiplayer online battle arena title.

The corporation hasn't said anything about this part of the report, so it's unclear just what it plans for Heroes of the Storm. The game has recently entered a closed beta and its popularity is soaring, despite ongoing demands from fans for cheaper heroes and more communication from Blizzard.
