Video game developer Blizzard is announcing all the players who are at the moment engaged in the Season 2 event for Diablo 3 that it is aiming to introduce a two-week notice for the end of the initiative and that on the same day it will also reveal a launch date for Season 3.

The studio says that it has listened to the feedback offered by the community and that it has shortened the period to make sure that gamers remain engaged while also having the time required to get prepared for the next play period.

Blizzard explains that it will first reveal an end date for Season 2 and will then deploy the patch 2.2.0 for Diablo 3, which is at the moment in testing on the official Public Test Realms.

Only once all the changes are implemented and the community gets accustomed to them will Season 3 be launched.

The studio adds, "In the meantime, we wish all Season 2 challengers the best of luck, whether it’s knocking out a Conquest, putting together your perfect set of gear, seeing how high you can get in Greater Rifts, or wherever your adventures may take you."

Most fans are expecting Season 2 to end before the middle of April, although the company has not offered any clues about the date so far.

Blizzard reveals Diablo 3 Season 3 items

A range of items from the game will be made seasonal only for a period and the list includes: Dead Man's Legacy (rework), Dread Iron (rework), Nagelring (rework), Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac (rework), Hammer Belt (Placeholder Name), Ranslor's Folly, Little Man's Finger, Spirit Guards, Iceblink (Legendary gem), Mutilation Guard (Legendary gem) and Bottomless Potion of Amplification.

Blizzard also says that Bane of the Stricken will be taken out of patch 2.2.0 because the implementation is not optimal at the moment.

All gamers who are interested in offering feedback about the coming update should register for the PTR and test the changes the company wants to make.

Blizzard has made major tweaks to Diablo 3 since it was launched and says that the action RPG is now solid enough to keep gamers engaged in the long term, with regular events and patches designed to improve the experience that it offers.
