The development team at Blizzard announces that Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls is set to launch on the PC on March 25 of 2014 and is revealing the contents of the special editions that true fans of the franchise now have access to.

The game can now be pre-ordered both in retail stores and via the official Battle.net service, according to information posted on the official blog of the company.

The Digital Deluxe Edition of Reaper of Souls for Diablo 3 will include: special transmogrification recipes for both helms and weapons, which are designed to make the player stand out on the battlefield; a new Spectral Hound minion; three more character slots; a Treasure Goblin companion that can be used in World of Warcraft and Crusader-themed portraits backed by Malthael decals to use in Starcraft II.

Blizzard explains that, "Players who prepurchase the Digital Deluxe Edition will receive their in-game items with the launch of the expansion on March 25, though some items may arrive beforehand, so keep an eye out for early deliveries."

The retail version of the Collector's Edition adds: a Malthael-themed mouse pad, an art book that shows how the vision for Reaper of Souls evolved, a Behind the Scenes documentary with interviews with developers and community members.

Reaper of Souls is the first full expansion for Diablo 3 and is designed to take players to the town of Westmarch, where they will be able to battle a whole new host of enemies, including innovative bosses.

At the same time, fans will get access to the new Crusader class, which introduces new skills and abilities and will offer surprises even when playing core Diablo 3 content.

Blizzard is also shutting down the Auction House feature just before the launch of Reaper of Souls and is rebalancing the in-game economy.
