It's unclear when the update will be going live

Video game developer Blizzard is announcing that the next major patch for Diablo 3, labeled 2.2.0, is at the moment receiving a number of hotfixes on the official Public Test Realms, which are designed to improve the experience of the game when the update is delivered to the entire community.

The company is dealing with drop rates for new armor sets and with some performance issues, and a full list can be seen by clicking on the button at the end of this article.

The 2.2.0 patch for Diablo 3 is designed to make some big changes to the core mechanics and to introduce a range of new gear for players to use, and that means extensive testing is required in order to make sure that no problems are introduced.

The studio states, "These hotfixes should not require you to download a new patch for the PTR. Some of the hotfixes below will go live the moment they are implemented while others may require a restart of the game to go into effect. Please keep in mind that some issues cannot be addressed without a client-side patch."

All gamers who are using 2.2.0 on the Diablo 3 PTR are invited to offer their feedback in order to make sure that Blizzard has all the data it needs to improve it.

Diablo 3 is a continuously improving experience

Right now, most of the player attention when it comes to Blizzard titles is focused on Hearthstone and on Heroes of the Storm, but Diablo 3 might be the title that has delivered the most impressive improvements since it was launched.

The title was criticized by members of the community when it first arrived, but the developers have listened to feedback and have even eliminated the Auction House in order to improve the overall experience.

Diablo 3 might now be considered an old game, but its arrival on consoles and the launch of the expansion have kept it fresh and engaging for a wide range of players.

Blizzard has not announced long-term plans for it, but after patch 2.2.0 is launched, the company might reveal yet another big content drop for the title, which might be announced once the currently running Season wraps up.
