Diablo 3 update 2.1.0, the long-awaited major patch for the RPG, is set to be available for download today, August 26, as Blizzard has already confirmed that it will roll it out following a period of maintenance on its servers.

Diablo 3 launched quite a few years ago, and since then, developer Blizzard has supported the game in some impressive ways, by releasing not just free updates but also listening to the community and even deploying the Reaper of Souls expansion.

Now, the next big major patch for Diablo 3, update 2.1.0, is set to start rolling out today, August 26, first in the Americas region, and then in the Europe and Asia ones.

The patch has already been confirmed in the breaking news section of Diablo 3's Battle.net category. Blizzard will start performing maintenance on the game's servers on August 26, at 3am PDT until 1pm PDT. After that time, patch 2.1.0, complete with all of its features, enhancements, tweaks, and modifications, will be available for all Diablo 3 owners in the Americas region.

Following that maintenance, it's expected that Diablo 3 will go offline in Europe, and then in Asia, for the rollout of the update in those server regions.

Expect word from Blizzard if the maintenance completes ahead of time.

The patch weighs in at 300MB, according to the official forums, but its installation process might take a while, as it modifies a lot of big files from inside Diablo 3.
