Loot will have stats that reflect the required skills for that certain class

The upcoming update 1.0.8 for Diablo 3 will bring a few changes to the statistics of class-specific items, including arrow quivers for Demon Hunters or wands for Wizards, so that their stats will actually benefit that specific class and not another one that can't even use the item.

Diablo 3 is getting ready to receive a brand new patch in the near future, in the form of update 1.0.8, which is set to bring quite a few changes in regards to the items that can be looted inside the title.

After talking about the improvement of Legendary items and actually posting it on the Public Test Realm, Blizzard Game Designer Travis Day talked with fans on the Battle.net forums and confirmed that patch 1.0.8 was going to change class-specific stats for class-specific items.

Day exemplified the current problem using the Demon Hunter class, who relies on the Dexterity stat for its items. With the system at this moment, it's possible that a Demon Hunter-only arrow quiver can be spawned with a Strength main attribute, which is useful to Barbarians.

"While we feel that randomness is an incredibly important aspect of Diablo games, we also agree that players need to feel like their next great item is just around the corner. Items can roll many stats that may not be valuable to the player who finds them, and that's fine—but most items should feel like they could be good for someone," Day said.

Blizzard doesn't want to eliminate too much of the randomness mechanic when spawning loot but it does admit that class-specific items need a tweak that will be included in the latest Diablo 3 update 1.0.8.

"Quivers rolling their primary stat as Strength doesn't really play any role here; however, we don’t want to remove randomness completely and have it be a forgone conclusion that every quiver you pick up will roll with the exact stats you want," he added.

"While we are changing it so that class specific items can't roll the primary value of a different class's stat, that doesn't mean you will never see +Strength on a quiver. What it does mean is you will only see +Strength on a quiver if it came as part of a Dex/Str affix or a Str/Vit affix, which is providing some benefit (even if not ideal) to the class the item is intended for."

As of yet, however, it's unclear just when patch 1.0.8 for Diablo 3 will appear for the final version of the game and not just on the PTR.
