Blizzard co-founder Mike Morhaime took to the Battle.net forums and confirmed some new details about the next update for Diablo 3, in the form of patch 1.0.4, which is designed to bring more improvements, as well as better Legendary items and all sorts of changes.

Diablo 3 has been available for two months and, ever since its record-breaking launch, Blizzard has worked hard to keep the online dungeon crawling experience as balanced and as secure as possible.

We already saw quite a few patches and hotfixes appear in these couple of months and Blizzard has now made it clear that lots of work is still needed, through the voice of its co-founder Mike Morhaime.

The executive posted a special message on the Battle.net forums and confirmed that quite a lot of great things are included in the new update: patch 1.0.4.

“Our teams are working hard to improve the game balance, build on our design, and listen to what players are saying to make it the best game it can be. You’ve seen some of that work already in patch 1.0.3, and you’ll see additional improvements with patch 1.0.4,” he said.

“On the game balance front, this update will contain changes designed to further deliver on the team’s goal of promoting “build diversity,” with buffs to many rarely used, underpowered class abilities.”

A big part of the new update will consist of new and better Legendary items, which should finally make players happy when they find the ultra-rare gear.

“Another topic we’ve seen actively discussed is the fact that better, more distinct Legendary items are needed. We agree. Patch 1.0.4 will also include new and improved Legendary items that are more interesting, more powerful, and more epic in ways you probably won’t be expecting.”

Besides these immediate changes, Morhaime emphasized that the Blizzard team is working hard on improving the game in all sorts of ways, so players should definitely continue their dungeon crawling experience.
