The major update will be rolled out towards the end of the day across the game's regions

Blizzard has confirmed that it will be taking the servers of Diablo 3 offline later today, October 16, in order to roll out the long-awaited patch 1.0.5 for the role-playing dungeon crawler.

Diablo 3 came out back in May and, since then, Blizzard has supported it through a variety of patches that brought plenty of bug fixes, improvements, and new features, like the Paragon one in update 1.0.4.

Now, after putting patch 1.0.5 through its paces on the Public Test Realm, Blizzard has confirmed that it’s going to release the update later today, October 16, all around the world.

As with the launch of any patch, the game’s servers will be taken offline region by region, so check out the actual details from Blizzard about the maintenance periods below.

The Americas: 3:00 a.m. PDT (10/16) to 1:00 p.m. PDT (10/16) Europe: 6:00 p.m. PDT (10/16) to 4:00 a.m. PDT (10/17) Asia: 1:00 p.m. PDT (10/17) to 11:00 p.m. PDT (10/17) A variety of new features can be found in patch 1.0.5, including the new Monster Power mechanic or the Infernal Machine mode.
