The small update is already live right now

Diablo 3 has just received a new hotfix update from developer Blizzard, in order to solve a couple of pesky issues relating to respawns and leaderboards, while eliminating an exploit that affected the Greater Rifts.

Diablo 3 has been around for quite some time, but thanks to the great support from Blizzard, which has released constant updates, not to mention new content like the Reaper of Souls expansion, many players are still really enjoying the dungeon crawler experience.

A new hotfix is live right now

Now, a fresh small hotfix update has been rolled out by Blizzard, which confirms on the official website that a few issues and a big exploit have been remedied.

First up, players should properly respawn in case they level up while being dead. Apparently a big problem caused players to remain dead if they reached a new level right after they passed away.

Another issue solved by the Diablo 3 hotfix related to season achievements that weren't recorded on the leaderboards if it was awarded while the player was out of the game. The fix isn't retroactive, so those affected by the problem until now should enter a new season game with their character to get the correct leaderboard position.

A Greater Rift exploit has also been fixed

Last but not least, the small patch also targets a known exploit with the Greater Rifts mechanic. Apparently, players entered a game with a Greater Rift, exited the match, entered a new one in which they drastically modified their gear or loadout, and then returned to the Greater Rift for an easier time.

The hotfix, however, remedies this issue as players won't be allowed to re-enter the Greater Rift until their loadout matches the one they used when they entered it.

Diablo 3's new hotfix is already available inside the game and doesn't require any download, as it's been applied to Blizzard's own servers.
