Playing cooperatively with others enriches the Diablo experience

Diablo 3 has been out for almost a week and, after getting past the wave of errors and the ongoing problems, many players have started experiencing Blizzard’s latest dungeon crawling role-playing game.

As I pointed out in my review last week, while some people, like many Metacritic users, may disagree, the experience is quite enjoyable once you actually manage to connect to Battle.net servers.

While you do get a lot of satisfaction while going through the game by yourself, the most fun you can have while experiencing Diablo III is when you play alongside your friends.

Just like Diablo II, the new installment supports four players per match and scales up the difficulty as more people join you.

Thanks to the mandatory online connection, entering sessions made by your friends is seamless and you can always interact with them by using the text chat function (no voice support, sadly). You can also access options for trading items and other such things by clicking on the character’s icon in the upper left corner.

In case you don’t have any friends to play with, you can start a Diablo 3 session and make it available to the public. As such, those who choose to randomly enter an ongoing game can join you on your journeys.

While there’s always a chance to get paired with an undesirable player, most people who are now enjoying Diablo 3 are quite experienced and know how to work as a team. If not, you can always kick them or report them to Blizzard for different types of actions.

The biggest reward for playing with friends, besides getting to enjoy the game with others, is the fact that magic, rare, or legendary loot drops at higher rates, so you can easily augment your inventory or sell these extra items via the Auction House.

How have you experienced Diablo 3 up until now? Did you play alone or with friends?
