The dungeon-crawling RPG is coming to consoles and you can check out the first screenshots
After lots of rumors and speculation, Diablo 3 has officially been confirmed by Blizzard for both the next-generation PlayStation 4 but also for the current PlayStation 3, as owners will soon be able to engage in the impressive dungeon crawling RPG.Quite a lot of new games were revealed for the PlayStation 4 yesterday at Sony's big event but also an older one, in the form of Blizzard's Diablo 3, which already appeared on the PC and Mac platforms last year.
Diablo 3 for the PS3 and PS4 will be based on the core PC game and, according to the studio's announcement on Battle.net, will include all the latest updates plus new features that were added via patches, like the "Paragon levels, the Infernal Machine event, Monster Power, Brawling, and more."
The game has also been customized for the console, with special controls, a new user interface, plus a dynamic camera perspective to make the game a joy to play on a big screen.
"Players will be able to wage war against the Burning Hells on their own in single-player games as well as team up and destroy countless demons with their fellow Nephalem in multiplayer games. For multiplayer, players will have the option to choose between four-player online (complete with matchmaking) and four-player local co-op modes for their couch-based warfare," according to the studio.
Blizzard will showcase Diablo 3 on the PlayStation 3 at the PAX East convention in Boston between March 22 and 24.
"Diablo III looks and plays great on the PlayStation," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment.
"We put a lot of care and thought into the PlayStation version to make sure it would deliver an authentic Diablo gaming experience, and we’re really pleased with the results. We can’t wait for players to try it out at PAX East."
You can expect to hear much more about the console versions of Diablo 3 soon enough. Until then, check out a few screenshots below.
