Diablo 3's Public Test Realm version of patch 2.1.0 now features the first Seasons trial, which allows players to start new characters and go through shorter adventures. However, the special Seasonal Legendary items aren't available just yet.

Diablo 3 update 2.1.0 promises to bring forth a variety of different improvements and changes to the game, including balance tweaks for all the character classes. It's also set to debut plenty of new features, including the Seasons system.

Now, the beta version of the patch that's available on the Public Test Realm has been updated with the first Season. Testers are invited, according to the official announcement, to create a new Seasonal Hero and to embark on the adventures of the game right from the beginning.

However, it seems that the special legendary items promised for the Seasons aren't available just yet, so there isn't a lot of incentive to try it out for now.

However, Blizzard promises to turn them on in the near future, once it's sure that the Seasons system is behaving as expected.

Until then, you can still try out the first Season on the Diablo 3 PTR as well as the many other changes included in the test version of patch 2.1.0.
