Shiny the cat has been accused of multiple attacks on both people and other pets in the Cornish neighborhood of Little Treviscoe. The residents are forced to hide from the devilish creature that caused many of them to end up at the hospital.

The black feline now holds the nickname of “Devil Cat” after forcing neighbors to lock themselves in their houses just to escape the aggressive animal. The violent tom chases children, fights with dogs and other cats and jumps at residents while clawing, scratching and biting them.

The locals have made several complaints to the authorities, accusing the menace of terrorizing the neighborhood. Victims of “Devil Cat” defend themselves with water hoses, tea mugs or anything they have at their reach whenever Shiny is around. The law concerning dangerous dogs doesn't apply to felines so the authorities have their hands tied up for the moment.

Shiny's owners have a hard time believing their pet is such a “hell's creature” as the neighbors describe it. They said that they took all measures possible to change Shiny's aggressive tendencies by neutering him and scheduling some sessions with an animal psychologist. The residents don't believe this is enough and requested owners to do a sacrifice and put Shiny down.

One of the animal's victims, Paula Burton, 42 years old, was rushed to the emergency room after Shiny attacked her and clawed her arms and legs leaving bruises and cuts all over the poor woman's extremities. She managed to fight off the aggressive set of claws but was required to follow an antibiotics treatment not to risk getting infected, according to The Telegraph.

Another resident, this time a 90-year-old woman, was attacked and had a large tear on her arm that required weeks of dressing and care. The locals told The Telegraph that the animal “is just four sets of claws and a set of teeth coming at you.” Julia Terry, a 43-year-old resident, was attacked twice by the feline while trying to retrieve her own pet from the devil cat's claws.

It may seem unbelievable, but locals started to install fences and traps just to avoid running into the violet cat. The owners, Mandie and Adrian Knowles, parents of 3 children with ages between two and seven years old, argue with the accusations saying that “these people [who got attacked] must have done something for him to act that way. He wouldn't attack them out of the blue.”

Even with the RSPCA frequently knocking at their door, they disagree with their neighbors and will not accept putting down the healthy animal. They had him since he was a kitten and it's understandable that they are attached and trying all possible options to stop Shiny's aggressive behavior.
