Gamers have been clamoring for remakes of their favorite titles for the modern gaming consoles for some time but at least one developer believes that High Definition versions of the old titles might do more harm than good.

Stewart Gilray, who is the leader of the Just Add Water development team, has stated, “I loved the GoW 1 and 2 remakes, personally I think they were better than GoW3, and I’m also looking forward to playing the Team ICO titles. As for others I’m not sure. I think Beyond Good and Evil should not have been updated, as it’s only gone to show what rose-tinted glasses we had in the old days.”

Just Add Water has been remaking the Oddworld video games for the PlayStation Network and the Xbox Live Arcade and has just launched an updated version of Stranger’s Wrath.

At the moment Ubisoft is working on Beyond Good & Evil 2, although no significant details have been revealed and the game lacks a launch date.
