David Alison is much more impressed with Apple's OS, not to mention the hardware

I wrote a piece a while ago entitled "Once an Apple Fan, Always an Apple Fan." Here's something to back that up. The MacDailyNews tells a story about a "Longtime Microsoft Windows developer" who "switched to Apple Mac." And for good reason(s) too. Check it out!

"I have been a Windows user and software developer since 1992, and a DOS user and developer since 1984. I used to hate Macs and as recently as 9 months ago my avatar on one of my forums was John Hodgman (the PC guy from the Mac ads)," David Alison wrote on his blog. "Now I really enjoy using my Mac and am drifting away from Windows as a platform."

The reasons, summarized by the aforementioned source, are as follows:

The Mac OS X User Interface is "clean and uncluttered." "After two months with my MacBook I have not had a single problem with this aspect of the machine," says David, speaking about the operating system's performance, as well as the hardware itself. Referring to compatibility, Mr. Alison claims he "can use [VMWare's Fusion's] Unity mode and have Windows applications share the desktop with [his] Mac applications," something he apparently appreciates quite a bit. The MacBook also provides "the perfect balance" for the developer, while the "staggering" range of apps Macs cover also appeals to him greatly.

Now, after two months of using Mac, David's impression of Windows XP, Vista and Ubuntu has changed... a lot. The man explains: "After two months I still find the machine fascinating. I don't hate my Windows XP machine, nor the Vista laptop or Ubuntu workstation I also have at my desk. I just don't use them all that much anymore."

So I guess "once a Windows fan, always a Windows fan" doesn't apply, huh? Can this wordplay (so to speak) even work for Windows...?
