Developer Cody Cooper was playing around with Apple’s iOS 6 beta when he stumbled upon references to the new Maps application with hints at the possibility of integration with Macs.

Cody reportedly found some interesting code strings in the file altitude_manifest.xml, where “there is a reference to a set of Intel based graphics chipsets for which certain features like Shading are disabled.”

Apple is known to be delivering a new Maps application with 3D Flyover views in iOS 6. Integration with OS X shouldn’t bee too far fetched, considering how many services adopted by Apple now work cross-platform within its ecosystem. iCloud, Notification Center, Game Center, and social networking are just a few examples.

Of course, there’s always the possibility of Apple integrating Maps for the sake of offering some location-based features inside the company’s photography apps, like iPhoto and Aperture, on Mac OS X.
